JONATHAN MILLER – CINEMATOGRAPHER

Jonathan Miller is a Hudson Valley, NY based cinematographer attracted to stories that can change the culture.

His films have screened at: Cannes, Sundance, Toronto, Tribeca, DOC NYC and New Directors/New Films. Commercial and television clients include Netflix, Amazon, Dove, Covergirl, Starbucks, Dell, American Express, Showtime, History, NatGeo, MTV and HBO.

Some of his achievements include THE LAST OUT which won a special jury prize at Tribeca, the Audience Award at Hot Springs, Grand Jury Prize at Florida, Best Cinematography at Centre FF, premiered theatrically and on POV in Oct 2022 and just won an Emmy. GIMME THE LOOT won the Grand Jury prize at SXSW, an Independent Spirit Award, was a Cannes Un Certain Regard selection and was released theatrically by IFC Films. AMERICAN TERRORIST is a dark comedy about prejudice in the wake of 9/11 released by Lionsgate. BLACK BOX (Bert Marcus Film) is a mystery feature doc about an Eastern Airlines crash in La Paz, Bolivia in 1985.  Miller lensed SCAM DUNK for The Springhill Company and ANGEL DOSE for Oscar-nominated director Sami Khan. TV work includes DESUS & MERO for Showtime and THE NEW YORKER PRESENTS for Amazon. 

He is a Local 600 Member, a member of the Society of Camera Operators (SOC), an FAA Part 107 certified drone pilot, and a NAUI certified scuba diver.

Jonathan is a graduate of Haverford College and studied abroad in Italy. He studied cinematography at NYU and under Steve Fierberg ASC.

He is an Emmy winning producer whose work is supported by The Sundance Institute, The Gotham, IDA and Rooftop Films.
